“Yes”, “No”, “Limited” and “Separate” summarise what each tool publishes on its official website. Reviewed on 8 September 2026.

The differences, one by one.

UptimeRobot

The go-to tool for knowing whether a site responds: HTTP, keyword, port, ping and heartbeats, and it now has an MCP server. According to its website it doesn’t include daily PageSpeed, built-in SSL and domain checks, or anomaly detection. Multi-location confirmation is limited on entry plans. If you already use it, the importer brings your monitors over.

Pingdom

High-quality synthetic monitoring and RUM (real-visitor data), but it starts at a higher price and is aimed at companies with a performance team. No heartbeats for crons and no support in Spanish.

StatusCake

On its higher plans it checks every 30 seconds, we check every minute: if you need to know in under 60 seconds, they offer something we don’t. On the other hand, continuous PageSpeed or full WHOIS need separate integrations, and there’s no anomaly detection or white label for clients.

UptimeRobot → WatcherWolf

Coming from UptimeRobot? Bring your monitors over in one go.

Paste your read-only UptimeRobot key, look through the list and import them all. Port and ping monitors become port monitors.

When are we not the best choice?

  • If you have 2 or 3 personal sites and only want to know whether they respond, UptimeRobot’s free tier may be enough.
  • If you’re a large company with Datadog or New Relic, WatcherWolf works as external monitoring, but it doesn’t replace what you run inside.
  • If you need alerts by SMS or phone call: ours arrive by email, Telegram, your phone with the installable app, Slack, Teams, Discord and Google Chat (and from Studio, JSON webhooks and n8n), but not by SMS.

Data about the other tools comes from their official pages. WatcherWolf isn’t affiliated with any of them.
