1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is Joan Ribas, an individual who provides the service under the WatcherWolf brand and owns the website https://watcherwolf.com. You can contact the controller, including about any data protection matter, at info@watcherwolf.com. WatcherWolf is a service operated from Spain and subject to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Spanish data protection act (LOPDGDD).
The controller’s full identification details (tax ID and address) are in the legal notice.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following personal data:
- Registration data: name, email address and password (stored encrypted).
- Usage data: URLs of the websites you set up for monitoring, activity logs and configuration preferences.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system and access data.
3. Why we process it
We use your data to:
- Provide the website monitoring service you have signed up for.
- Send alerts and notifications about the status of your websites.
- Manage your account and subscription.
- Improve the service and provide technical support.
4. Legal basis
We process your data to perform the service contract you accept when you register, and on the basis of your explicit consent where required.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. Monitoring logs are kept within the limits of your subscription plan. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Ask for your data to be deleted.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability.
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@watcherwolf.com.
7. Security and data location
We apply technical and organisational security measures to protect your data, including password encryption, HTTPS connections and access control. Your data is stored and processed in the European Union: WatcherWolf’s servers are in Paris (France), at Hostinger, and SoftwaLabs AI is also processed in the European Union. Some services you choose to use or that measure the website (Telegram, Microsoft Clarity and Ahrefs) may process data outside the European Union; they are in the list below. We do not share data with third parties for advertising purposes.
8. Processors and third parties
To provide the service we rely on the following providers, who process data on our behalf under the corresponding processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). There are no other disclosures and no sale of data:
- Hostinger International Ltd. — hosting of the application and database, with the servers in Paris (France), and sending of the service’s emails. It processes all account and monitoring data because it stores them.
- SoftwaLabs Pay (pay.softwalabs.com, run by the same owner, Joan Ribas) — billing and subscription management. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., which receives your email and billing details; card details are entered directly into Stripe and never pass through our servers. Payments aren’t active yet: nothing is charged until they are.
- Telegram — sending alerts, only if you voluntarily link your account or a guest’s. It receives the chat ID and the alert text (monitor name and URL). You can unlink it at any time and alerts will keep arriving by email.
- SoftwaLabs (the same owner, Joan Ribas) — the AI behind the support and sales chat, processed in the European Union. It receives the content of your chat messages to generate the answer. Please don’t use it to send sensitive data.
- SoftwaLabs (the same owner) — the Guardián’s weekly analysis with SoftwaLabs AI, processed in the European Union. Once a week it receives, for each website you monitor, the name you gave the monitor and its domain, together with aggregated metrics (uptime, response times, number and duration of incidents, detected anomalies and PageSpeed scores) to write the report and profile of each site. It does not receive your email, your name, your passwords, full URLs with parameters or the content of your pages. You can turn it off whenever you like under Guardián → Settings: the Guardián keeps working the same, you just stop receiving the written analysis.
- SoftwaCAP (SoftwaLabs) — captcha on the contact, registration and password recovery forms. It processes the IP address and technical data of the submission to tell people from bots.
- Google Cloud (Google Ireland Ltd.) and Cloudflare, Inc. — verification probes, from the Studio plan up: when a site fails, they check it again from other countries, some outside the European Union. They only receive the public address of the site to check; they don’t process personal data.
- Google Ireland Ltd. — PageSpeed Insights API. It receives the URLs you have added in order to analyse their performance; we don’t send it any personal data from your account.
- Ahrefs — aggregated, cookieless visitor analytics that does not identify visitors or store information on their device.
- Microsoft Clarity — helps us see how people use the website, with heatmaps and anonymous recordings. Forms and personal data are masked. It does not set cookies or store information on your device.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; in that case the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or by an adequacy decision.
9. Cookies
We use only necessary cookies for the service to work (session, theme and language preference). We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. To measure use of the website in aggregate we use Ahrefs Analytics, a cookieless tool that doesn’t store information on your device or identify you. See the details in our Cookie policy.
